headshot.Mary AgeeMary Agee, President and CEO of Northern Virginia Family Service, began her career with the organization as a Family Counselor in 1972. Over the last 40 years she has been instrumental in growing NVFS into the vital community resource that it is today -- employing over 300 professionals and providing a constellation of life-changing programs to Northern Virginia's families. From 1978-1988, Mary was Deputy Director of Northern Virginia Family Service and since 1988 has served as Executive Director and then Chief Executive Officer. 

As CEO, Mary establishes program goals, provides leadership to the Board of Directors, represents NVFS in local and regional advocacy activities, oversees the organization's development efforts, and prepares the budget. Under Mary's leadership, NVFS has grown into the largest private non-profit human service organization in Northern Virginia. 

Mary received both her BA in social welfare and MSW in psychiatric social work at University of California at Berkeley. She and her husband Phil live in Fairfax, Virginia and have two grown children.
