The Community Foundation works with local donors to help meet the most critical needs of the region. We care deeply about our vulnerable neighbors, and we know that you care too. Our grants support programs addressing Poverty Relief, Child and Youth Development, Education, Health, Mental Health and Aging, and Military Personnel and Their Families. Should you have any questions about our work, or if you would like to open your own fund at the Community Foundation, please contact us.

Did you know that the Community Foundation hosts 19 scholarship funds? If you’re a high school student planning for a career in medicine, education, journalism, or criminal justice--or if you're a graduating senior from an Arlington County Public high school, there may be a scholarship just right for you. Visit our scholarship page here for a complete list of scholarships and criteria. Most scholarships are accepting applications now, with deadlines between March 15 and May 1. Some examples of Community Foundation scholarships include: The Elizabeth Koury Scholarship, a four year scholarship of up to $5,000 per year for a high ability high school senior who demonstrates financial need and is planning a career in medicine. The Rose Koury Scholarship, a four year scholarship of up to $5,000 per year for a high ability, high school senior interested who demonstrates financial need and is planning a career in elementary education. The Charles Homer Barton Scholarship, of $2,000 for the son or daughter of police officers employed in Fairfax County or Loudoun County. Ten scholarships will be awarded in 2012. The Cameron and Virginia Dye Scholarship for graduates of Arlington public schools. Six scholarships of $4,000 each will be awarded in 2012. Apply today!
