Innovation, Healthy Kids, and Military Personnel and Families Funds

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is currently accepting applications from nonprofit organizations, schools and faith-based organizations that meet the criteria within one of the following grant cycles.

Innovation Fund Grants

lightbulbThe Innovation Fund is currently accepting grant applications for programs that are dedicated to teaching and promoting STEM in innovative ways in Northern Virginia.  Grants of $5,000 to $10,000 will be awarded to support, expand or enhance existing programs.

Military Personnel & Their Families Fund Grants

Military Hug LRThe Community Foundation will be issuing a grant to an organization that can provide coordination of services available to military veterans and their families in Northern Virginia.

Healthy Kids Grants

healthykidsHealthy Kids grants address the causes of childhood obesity by encouraging healthy lifestyles.  Northern Virginia public schools can apply for a grant of up to $2,000 to increase students' physical activity or promote better nutrition.  Grants are made possible by the Chin Family Charitable Fund, a donor advised fund with the Community Foundation.

Additional Information

Grants will be made to organizations providing services in Northern Virginia (the areas of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William Counties, and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas and Manassas Park.)  Be sure to note the eligibility criteria for each grant opportunity. Local, state and federal government entities are not eligible to apply.  An organization can only apply once per grant cycle.
