FF ArtisphereFuture Fund Members at Artisphere during 2013 Awards GalaThe Future Fund will celebrate its successful grantmaking in 2015 and raise funds to support its grant cycle in 2016 at its annual Awards Gala, “Masked ‘Til Midnight,” on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Artisphere in Arlington, Virginia.  Tickets are $90 for Future Fund members and $115 for nonmembers.  Prices will go up after May 1st.

The Future Fund is the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s giving circle for young professionals.  It offers members opportunities to learn about the critical needs of the region, donate at affordable levels to the causes they care about most, and meet their professional peers – other community advocates who see the benefit of pooling monetary contributions to increase the impact of their support to local charitable organizations.

The annual Awards Gala is a chance for Future Fund members and friends to meet the grant-winning organizations who were recipients of the group’s competitive grant cycle.  This year, the group focused its philanthropy to benefit organizations supporting individuals age 13 and above and families with limited access to mental health care.  Access Hope in Fairfax and Youth for Tomorrow in Bristow both received grants of $20,000.

Members of the Future Fund take pride it the impact they are making in the community.  “This year the Future Fund has challenged the stigmaFutureFund2015 LogoFINAL Small surrounding the area of mental health, and I am proud to be a part of an organization whose members drive sustainable change in our community,” says Sylvia Parsons, Human Resources Business Partner at Northrop Grumman and Future Fund Grants Committee co-chair.

Co-founder of the Future Fund and Managing Director of Human Capital Strategic Consulting, Julie Simmons, says “meeting the recipients of our grants at the Awards Gala each year has been eye opening – we are able to truly understand and see the impact of our time, money and relationships.  It is amazing to see how the community benefits from our efforts to help support critical needs in Northern Virginia.”

The evening will feature hors d’oevres, an open bar and dancing. Creative cocktail attire is encouraged, and masks are optional.

Support for the Future Fund is provided by the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation and Steve Gladis Leadership Partners.

Annual Future Fund sponsorships start at $1,000 and include visibility throughout the year and entertainment benefits for individuals or companies that include additional ticket discounts.  For more information, contact Jen McCollum, Vice President of Donor Relations at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, at jen.mccollum@cfnova.org or (703) 879-7636.
