Supporting Critical Needs in Northern Virginia
Our 2017 Community Investment Funds grant cycle is now open and accepting applications!
The Community Investment Funds are the signature grant cycle managed by the Community Foundation in which funds are invested in organizations serving the Northern Virginia community. This year, will be funding application in three of our areas of focus this year: Child, Youth Development & Education; Health, Mental Health & Aging; and Poverty Relief. Click each link to read about the specific priority.
In 2016, we awarded more than $380,000 to 36 organizations meeting critical needs in our region through this process.
Nonprofits interested in applying can do so through our website. We have posted a webinar there, hosted by Sari Raskin, Director of Grants and Community Leadership, and Krysta Pearce, Manager of Grants and Scholarships, to provide an overview about the grants process and to provide some guidance for how to complete the application.
This year’s application has been modified to better align with the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers’ common application. We have also designed the applications to allow nonprofits to choose whether to apply for general operating support or for program support, and either application type will be reviewed equally.
Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 16th.
Questions about this grants process can be sent to Sari Raskin at firstname.lastname@example.org or Krysta Pearce at email@example.com.
