In 2013 the Future Fund grants process focused on housing programs with wrap-around services to help low and moderate-income individuals and families attain and remain in permanent affordable housing. The winning organizations include:

Homestretch, Inc., located in Falls Church, VA
The grant will support housing costs of five homeless families for three months, a critical period of time in their acclimation to the program and in their development of a sense of trust, safety and personal direction; all of which guide their individual plan for their future.

Transitional Housing BARN, Inc., located in Bristow, VA
The grant will support the BARN Family Transition Fund, which provides financial assistance to homeless families that have been placed onto a fast track toward permanent housing, subsidizing costs for essential services as families transition to self-sufficiency,  attain economic independence and maintain stable housing.

United Community Ministries, located in Alexandria, VA
The grant will support the Journeys Program, which provides transitional housing for families displaced by domestic violence, including a full complement of supportive services to prepare participants for a future of independence and stability.
