Third annual Margery Barkdull Memorial Fund for Animal Welfare supports two animal shelters in Northern Virginia

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s Margery Barkdull Memorial Fund for Animal Welfare awarded two grants for its 2015 grant process. The Fund, which aims to support organizations that preserve and protect animals in Northern Virginia has granted a total of $10,000 to the following two organizations:

Operation Paws for Homes: $5,000 grant will help rescue and save the lives of ten more heartworm positive dogs this year.

Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter: $5,000 will support training, socialization, and behavior modification for dogs currently in the Fairfax County shelter to make them more adoptable.
