Up to $40,000 available to support STEM, Entrepreneurship and/or Leadership programs for girls

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s Business Women’s Giving Circle has launched its second annual grant cycle to support nonprofit organizations and schools that provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Entrepreneurship and/or Leadership programs to girls in K-12 public schools, colleges and universities.  This giving circle brings together successful women who want to have an impact on the women and girls in their community.  It was established in early 2014 with the goal of empowering girls and women of all ages and preparing them for business success by supporting organizations that create connections, opportunities, and confidence.

The Business Women’s giving circle includes women who are business owners and business leaders, members and leaders of local chambers of commerce and nonprofit boards of directors, and women who are interested in joining with their peers to support programs and organizations in our region that promote business innovation, entrepreneurship, STEM education and inventive opportunities for women and girls.  Annual membership in the group is $1,100, and includes a vote in the annual competitive grant cycle.  All contributions are pooled for a greater collective impact.
