Kara Foster-Bey Memorial Fund

Kara Foster Memorial FundThe Kara Foster-Bey Memorial Fund provides direct grants to organizations focusing on mental health awareness, suicide prevention, student loan debt relief, and mental health support of students.

The fund was created to honor Kara's life.  Kara was 25 years old when she took her life on April 1, 2019.  She was beautiful, talented, and a high achiever.  She was a straight A and honor roll student from elementary school through college.  She was also a gifted competitive swimmer who swam in Junior Olympics and was one of only two Freshman to make her High School varsity team.  Kara did all this while fighting a debilitating and painful illness, Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome.

Kara's suicide was the culmination of a long battle with physical and emotional health problems, and this fund was established lovingly by her family to contribute to preventing suicide in other young people who might be struggling.
