The event honored the Future Fund’s two 2015 grant-winning organizations – Access Hope and Youth for Tomorrow.  Each organization received grants of $20,000 to support individuals age 13 and above and families with limited access to mental health care.

These grants made a significant different to the participants of both organizations.  Founder and President of Access Hope, Len Wolf, said “For members of the Future Fund to support mental health services without being able to see the progression or positive outcomes of this support tells me that those folks, like all of us who support mental health, are doing so really from the heart to make a difference.”
The Future Fund Leadership Committee introduced a new award this year to recognize members for outstanding service to the Future Fund and the community.  Julie Simmons, Managing Director of Human Capital Strategic Consulting and co-founder of the Future Fund, received the inaugural Infinity Award for her dedication to the Future Fund.  Since the giving circle was founded, Julie has recruited countless new members, generated community support, and been one of the most steadfast supporters of its work to engage the next generation of philanthropists in meeting the critical needs of the Northern Virginia Community.  As of May 2015, she has joined the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, continuing to demonstrate her commitment to supporting the critical needs in the region.

Support for the Future Fund is provided by the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation and Steve Gladis Leadership Partners.
