Moore FamilyMark A. and Brenda L. Moore of the Mark and Brenda Moore Family Foundation will be recognized by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia for their history of passionate leadership and philanthropy with the 2017 Community Leadership Award. This award is the longest standing community based recognition award in Northern Virginia, and will be presented at the Community Foundation’s annual Raise the Region Gala on October 6, 2017 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.

The award is presented annually for outstanding commitment and dedication to improving the quality of life for all Northern Virginians.  Nearly 650 business leaders, philanthropists, and community organizers participate in this event to celebrate the charitable work of the Community Foundation and to raise funds to support the critical needs of the Northern Virginia community.

“As champions of advancements in health care, education, music and the arts, and Christian evangelism, Mark and Brenda Moore demonstrate their lifelong commitment to the underserved,” said Eileen Ellsworth, President of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. “What make their gifts of philanthropic leadership unique is their level of activism and engagement in the causes they care about – they volunteer their time, energy and resources to organizations throughout our region and beyond, and we are delighted to honor Mark and Brenda Moore with the 2017 Community Leadership Award.”

The evening will feature a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by dinner, live auction and award presentation.  Dress is black tie attire.
