Thought Leadership Approach to Community Economic Development

The Innovation Breakfast Series launched in 2015 and we have held five events to-date. In chronological order, the events included:
The next Innovation Breakfast Series event, "Reviving the Dream: Designing Technology for Social Wellbeing," will be held Thursday, September 13. We are partnering with the WHEELS Global Foundation for this event. In the mid 20th Century, many believed emerging technologies would eradicate poverty, hunger, and sickness and build a more just and sustainable world. But in the intervening decades, technology took a sharp turn away from addressing social challenges. Today, that dream is being revived.  Across the globe, sustainable technologies are being developed and reimagined to help meet basic human needs, address social injustices, and create more balanced and prosperous communities. The WHEELS Global Foundation headquartered in Reston, Virginia, is on the forefront of this important work.  Register to join us to learn more about the opportunity for our community – for all communities -  to benefit, and what role philanthropy plays in promoting technology that advances social wellbeing.

Innovation Breakfast Series events have welcomed more than 800 attendees thus far. Each breakfast event draws attendees from all sectors of the Northern Virginia region, including government and elected officials, business leaders, and nonprofit/foundation leaders.

The Innovation Breakfast Series are typically scheduled on a Thursday from 8 - 10 am. All event participants are encouraged to engage with us on social media before, during, and after an event on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
