Permanent Fund Campaign Launch

Goal is to Grow From Current $4 Million Plus to $7 Million Over the Next Year

The Community Foundation announces the launch of its Permanent Fund campaign, a community endowment which is a forever source to provide critical support for those in need in the Northern Virginia region, to seed innovation, and make a lasting difference in our community.

Currently the Permanent Fund is over $4 million in current and pledged gifts, and the goal is to grow it to $7 million by June of 2019.

“372,000 of our residents live at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level,” said Eileen Ellsworth, President and CEO of the Community Foundation, “the need for local philanthropy has never been greater. Northern Virginia is a terrific place to live work and play, but we cannot take that for granted. We have to constantly recreate and reimagine our community to make it ever more inclusive, equitable, and vibrant.”

“No one can predict what needs there will be in the future. Our goal through our programs, events, and initiatives is to be the resource that will ignite passion and strengthen connections within the community,” said Kevin DeSanto, Community Foundation Board of Directors chair. “We have the knowledge. We have the experience. But we need your help.”
