The Permanent Fund is comprised of endowments developed by many donors to leave lasting legacies for future generations of neighbors across our region.Below is a list of all the Component Funds that comprise the Permanent Fund for Northern Virginia.

“Establishing the Melinda Merk Fund for Animal Welfare, which is an endowed designated fund and part of the Permanent Fund, supports my love for animals and especially the rescue and adoption of dogs who have brought so much joy to my life personally. I am a long-time supporter and serial adopter of Lab Rescue, and recently became involved with Best Friends Animal Society. Several years ago, my family started a new tradition of making donations to our favorite charities in lieu of Christmas gifts. The fund will be a receptacle for these lifetime gifts as well as a beneficiary of my IRA, and leave a lasting legacy for animals in the local community.”

| Permanent Fund The Scholarship Fund for Northern VirginiaComponent of the Permanent Fund for Northern Virginia Provides financial assistance for graduating high school seniors from Northern Virginia’s 9 public school systems who attend a public university or public community college in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Awards from the Fund will be needs based with a preference given to students who face significant barriers to success and have difficulty accessing and/or affording higher education, regardless of the fields of study they choose. PLEASE NOTE: This fund is not currently accepting applications from students. |
