Funds Managed by the Community Foundation
The Community Foundation manages over 130 funds that support the most critical needs of the Northern Virginia region.

Donor Advised Funds allow the donor to remain actively involved in supporting issues that are most important to you. Grant awards are issued to charities in the name of the fund (or anonymously if you prefer). The Community Foundation administers over 100 Donor Advised Funds.
A Giving Circle is comprised of individuals who come together and pool their dollars, learn about the issues most pressing in the community, and decide together where to donate their collective contributions.
The Community Foundation administers funds that enable donors to be active partners with the Community Foundation in the grantmaking process by allowing them to make grant recommendations from the fund to support nonprofits working in areas of arts and culture, education, child and youth development, poverty relief, health, mental health and aging, and community improvement.
The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia manages approximately 20 scholarship funds to support graduating high school seniors from Northern Virginia pursue undergraduate degrees.
