Sue Aft Memorial Designated Fund

Established: November 12, 2025

Sue AftSue Aft, who dedicated her life to working with homeless and unaccompanied youth, passed away in April of 2025. Sue was a dedicated member of the board of the Growth and Healing HUB, in Alexandria, VA.

In her honor, the Aft family has established the Sue Aft Memorial Designated Fund to help build an endowment for the HUB. This endowment will allow the HUB to provide essential mental health and wellness services to children, youth, adults, and families, ensuring no one is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.

The Aft FamilySue's legacy is defined by her kindness and willingness to reach out to her students wherever they were to help meet their needs at any given time. The HUB provides many critical services, and its staff, under the leadership of Felicea Meyer-DeLoatch, goes above and beyond to meet the needs of so many living throughout the DMV area.

Your donation could accomplish the following:

• $10 provides a consumable toy or book for a child to use in the treatment playroom and home.
• $30 can pay for a client's co-pay.
• $100 provides a safe space for a child to engage in therapeutic play while learning healthy coping skills to grow in school, community and home.
• $500 provides five specialized trauma informed play therapy sessions for a child
• $1,000 provides 5 individual and 5 family therapeutic sessions.
• $2,500 provides 10 therapeutic sessions for a child and 10 family sessions as well as community outreach and education services
