NEW OPPORTUNITY!

Healthy Kids Round Two Grants Focused on Mental Health are now available!  Applications will open on August 15th.

The Community Foundation's report, Finding our Way Back to Mental Health, revealed that 22 percent of parents reported overall worsened mental or emotional health for their school-age children. Globally, rates of depression and anxiety for children and youth have doubled from their pre-pandemic levels.

Therefore, in 2022 a second round of Healthy Kids Grants up to $2,000 each are available to individual public schools in Northern Virginia that implement a program or strategy to support students' mental health and well being during the school year. The grants are awarded in a competitive grant process.

The first round of funding to support more physical activity and encourage better nutrition has closed, and applications are under review.
