The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia strives to build a community that works for everyone. We use a data-driven approach to understand the greatest needs of the region and manage competitive and transparent grants and scholarship processes that bolster our community.

In FY2024, we awarded more than $10 million in total grants and scholarships, including $960,375 in grants from discretionary funds, $631,190 in scholarships, and $8,815,297 from donor advised funds that the Community Foundation managed in order to help make more possible for Northern Virginia. 

In FY2025, we awarded $521,598 in scholarships, $983,735 in discretionary grants, and $7,918,432 in grants from donor advised funds, totaling $9,423,765 back to the communities we know and love.
