The Community Foundation is committed to building a Northern Virginia that works to everyone. Since it was founded in 1978, it has made a profound impact on the region.

It has partnered with more than 280 donors who have established charitable funds to support causes they care about and leave lasting legacies of giving. It has awarded more than $100 million in cumulative grants to support the philanthropy of its donors and to advance equity throughout the Northern Virginia region. It has released data-driven reports to better understand the needs of the region. And it has become a community leader, hosting regional events and launching initiatives to address current issues facing the community.
