Barbara Cornwell Memorial Scholarship Fund

Prince William

The Barbara Cornwell Memorial Scholarship Fund supports graduating seniors from Unity Reed High School in Manassas, VA seeking an education beyond high school.

A lifelong learner, a loving teacher, and a forty-two year veteran in the English Department at Stonewall Jackson High School (now Unity Reed), Barb Cornwell made a difference in so many lives of young people. She was a well-rounded person who loved music, the outdoors, literature, and her family. She loved learning and sharing her knowledge. Barb Cornwell passed away on March 1, 2021, after a short illness. In loving memory of this motivating and dedicated educator, The Barbara Cornwell Memorial Scholarship Fund has been created to support seniors at Unity Reed High School in Manassas, Virginia. The $5,000 scholarship in her name intends to support a student with a similar character.

Barb would have wanted to support seniors in seeking an education beyond high school and pursuing a successful career. Barb believed no student should be deprived of an education due to lack of funds.
