The Princess Kona! Scholarship Fund

Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William

The Princess Kona! Scholarship Fund is an endowed scholarship to benefit northern Virginia high school students and recent graduates pursuing studies in veterinary medicine or animal science.

The scholarship is named in honor of Princess Kona! of Arlington, VA, a charming cat adopted by Dr. T Spike Terwilliger in November of 2022. Princess Kona! has delighted people around the world on YouTube and her honors include “Pet of the Week,” 2023 Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) Calendar Winner, and 2024 AWLA Third Place Calendar Winner.

This scholarship dovetails with another scholarship founded by Dr. T Spike Terwilliger at the University of Maryland College Park, the Barbara Holton Terwilliger Endowed Research Fund for Veterinary Medicine named after his Mom. Each of these funds are aimed at addressing the shortage of veterinarians in the region and advancing veterinary medicine.

This scholarship fund has not yet begun accepting applications.
