Woody Marshall Memorial Scholarship Fund

Prince William

Woody MarshallWoodell "Woody" Marshall, the inspiration for this scholarship, was a student at Brentsville District High School before his promising young life was cut short in a tragic accident at the age of 16. An outgoing and caring boy, Woody had a passion for sports and art and a talent for writing. To honor his spirit and sometimes mischievous nature, candidates must submit three creative works of any style or length to be considered for the award. One of the works should be a poem that reflects on someone or something that deeply impacted the candidate's life.

Winners are chosen based on the use of creative language, content, imagery, and poetic devices. For more information about the scholarship, visit www.woodymarshall.org.

One non-renewable scholarship of $1,000 is awarded each year.
