The Community Leadership Awards are presented annually by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia to honor the individuals and organizations whose leadership, service, and partnership have made a lasting difference in the lives of our region’s residents. INDIVIDUAL HONOREES
Gil and Liz Blankespoor are honored for their lifelong commitment to expanding educational opportunity and strengthening Northern Virginia through the Reston Scholarship Fund. In partnership with the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, they have helped remove financial barriers to higher education by awarding more than $780,000 in scholarships to local students with financial need.
