Community Foundation Support Fees
The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia charges a Foundation Support Fee on each of our component funds. Foundation support fees play a vital role in helping the Community Foundation do what we do best - serve Northern Virginia's philanthropic needs. These fees allow us to offer personalized services to donors, maintain a dedicated team, and lead important community initiatives.We are committed to transparency, and while this fee schedule reflects our current structure, please note that it may be updated by our Board of Directors as needed.
Our current schedule of Foundation Support Fees effective January 1, 2026 is as follows:
One Time Set-Up Support Fee: $250
This includes the Community Foundation's preparation and review of the fund agreement, accounting for contributions to establish the Fund, written acknowledgement of donations, promotion of the fund on our website, and other administrative tasks connected to new fund creation in the Community Foundation’s financial reporting system and database.Minimum Annual Support Fee: $250

One fourth of the annual fee is automatically calculated and deducted from donor fund balances on the last day of each quarter, namely, on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31. No investment management fees are charged by the Community Foundation for endowed funds in the pooled assets of the Community Foundation. Investment management fees may be charged by third party investment managers and paid by the funds that use such managers.
