She is from New Mexico and an entire immediate and extended family of entrepreneurs, which sparked her special affinity for small businesses. She followed that passion during law school, working for the U.S. Small Business Administration, the National Federation of Independent Business, and for the House Committee on Small Business. She continues to work on small business issues as part of Holland & Knight’s government contracts practice.
