Amanda Bomfim is the Director of Communications and Events at the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. She has now a long working history with CFNOVA. Amanda started her CFNOVA journey by working as our summer 2018 intern while studying in her master’s program. In her current role, Amanda helps lead CFNOVA’s brand awareness and organizational storytelling, communications with key partners and supporters, and community events.Amanda is experienced in the work of community foundations. Prior to joining the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia team, she gained seven years of experience at The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. Her work focused on nonprofit capacity building and community relationships, directing programs such as Great Community Give, Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Amanda is a ‘Double Duke’ having earned a Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Public Administration at James Madison University.
When Amanda is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and her dog, Teddy. Amanda loves to read, play board games, and explore new places. Her latest adventure was a coast to coast road trip in Ireland!
