As the Manager of Grantmaking and Community Engagement at the Community Foundation, he is responsible for managing CFNOVA's grantmaking, scholarship administration, and nonprofit and community engagement. Before graduate school, Cooper served as a Community Engagement Coordinator and Community Health Worker at Center of Life, supporting residents through case management, health navigation, and resource coordination. His work included managing resident caseloads, organizing community events, and coordinating basic needs services in the Hazlewood community of Pittsburgh. He also assisted families with applications for public assistance programs and conducted home visits to support chronic disease management.

Cooper began his career as a KEYS AmeriCorps member with Reading is Fundamental, where he led more than virtual storytimes, distributed literacy kits, and helped deliver books to over 500 children across Allegheny County.

In addition to his policy and community work, Cooper has an extensive background in coaching and instruction. He has taught tennis for nearly a decade, coaching youth and adults, designing lesson plans, and running programs in Pittsburgh, Seattle, and DC.
