My name is Malik Kunata and I am very excited to join and work with the team at the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia as a summer intern. I am a rising senior at the University of Virginia studying Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Management. Through my coursework and experience, I have developed skills in quantitative analysis and problem-solving that I look forward to applying to the Foundation’s work. My time using data to support decision-making and conducting research has helped me understand how strong insights can drive meaningful community impact. At CFNOVA, I hope to use these skills to support projects that involve evaluating community needs, analyzing trends, and helping strengthen the Foundation’s ability to create positive change throughout Northern Virginia. In my few days with the organization, it has been amazing to see the impact and community relationships that the Foundation has built with groups across the Northern Virginia area. It will be great to assist in the work being done to support the incredible causes they champion and contribute to the Foundation’s mission.
