Fairfax, VA (March 18, 2026) – The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is making more possible for our region by awarding $745,000 in grants to 45 local nonprofit organizations. These grants are funded through the Foundation’s Community Investment Funds (CIF) distributions.
Nonprofits received awards in $15,000 or $30,000 amounts, demonstrating the Community Foundation’s dedication to nonprofit operations and programming. The 2026 grant cycle timeline was accelerated in response to the growing needs of our community – supporting nonprofits as they serve more clients and look for ways to strengthen their operations. Grants were awarded across key focus areas, including Education, Children and Youth, Military Families and Personnel, Mental Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Basic Needs/Safety Net, and Aging Services. Funding supports nonprofit organizations serving communities throughout Northern Virginia.
