Dear Community Foundation Friends and Supporters,

Last Friday evening, we gathered for the first time in 3 years to celebrate our region’s resilience, success, and growing sense of home and place. As always, your support literally helped Raise the Region!

More than 500 guests joined us in person and another 100 tuned in to the virtual live stream. It was an incredibly heartening reunion and opportunity to celebrate the ties that bind us all together. Your support and generosity were unprecedented. The event raised a total of $650,000, which will help the Community Foundation build a community that works for everyone.

We had the privilege to share some very powerful stories from Community Foundation grantees that demonstrate this region's resilience in the face of so many challenges. You can find them below:

We congratulate Micron, our 2022 Community Leadership Award winner, for its amazing connection to and impact on our greater community. Here is the video shared in tribute of Micron's work in our region and beyond.

Thank you to our event sponsors, listed below, our Board of Directors, our Gala Committee, and the entire Community Foundation staff, who all rose in support of a cause that deeply moves them to action. A special thanks goes to Meera Pillai, Community Foundation Board member and event emcee, who masterfully moderated the evening.

Thanks to our photographer, Gedalia Vera. Here are her photos from the event.

And to every single event attendee, thank you for coming! Your commitment to this work, this region, and this place we call home is all we need to thrive.

There is still time to support our work as our Second Chance Auction is open through Friday, October 14th at 8:00 pm. Winners will be notified, and items will be available for pick-up at the Community Foundation office in Oakton, Virginia.

Take care, everyone. Take heart in the power and purpose of our amazing community. See you all next year!

Sincerely,
