2013 Winners

In June 2013 the Loudoun Impact Fund announced the winning organizations of its inaugural competitive grant cycle. A total of $50,000 has been awarded to five nonprofit organizations in Loudoun County to support capacity building among Loudoun County nonprofits as well as programs that address the wellbeing of children and youth, specifically in the areas of mental health and substance abuse.

The 2013 winning organizations include:

HealthWorks for Northern Virginia - $5,000
To support programs in which youth experiencing anxiety, depression, self-image, familial stress or bullying issues will build self-awareness and self-confidence through a variety of expression exercises to decrease feelings of isolation, lowering risk of substance abuse.

Loudoun Cares - $20,000
To benefit the nonprofit support center, which provides capacity building training, information and referral services for human service needs and space for several small nonprofits.

Loudoun Citizens for Social Justice/LAWS - $10,000
For the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center, providing support and therapy to ease the trauma of child victims of abuse or sexual abuse and their non-offending parents.

Loudoun Youth - $10,000
To support programs that engage the youth of Loudoun County in positive experiences that cultivate a sense of well-being, confidence, self-esteem, teamwork and connection to their community.

NAMI Northern Virginia - $5,000
To support the expansion of programs for parents of children living with mental illness that help parents understand and support their young children living with serious mental illness while maintaining their own wellbeing.
