The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia was proud to join philanthropic partners from across the Commonwealth at the 2025 Virginia Funders Network Conference to explore innovative solutions and strategies that support thriving communities.

Sari Raskin, CFNOVA’s Vice President of Grants and Community Leadership, served on the conference planning committee and presented in a featured session on the value of research in funding decisions. She shared how Insight Region®, CFNOVA’s Center for Community Research, informs not only our grantmaking but also helps strengthen outcomes across the region.

CFNOVA also sponsored a focused discussion on environmental philanthropy, a timely conversation that reflects the milestone growth of our Environment Fund to a $1 million endowment, empowering sustained support for environmental resilience in Northern Virginia.

Key conversations at the conference included:
• workforce collaboration models for economic mobility 👷‍♀️🧑🏾‍⚕️👩🏽‍💼
• best practices in disaster philanthropy ⛑️
• innovations in equitable health access ⚕️
• support for caregiving and community wellbeing 🫶🏽
• and more!

We’re energized by the insights and relationships cultivated at the conference and look forward to applying them to our work in Northern Virginia.

Many thanks to the Virginia Funders Network for hosting a thoughtful and inspiring convening.
