Fairfax, VA (April 20, 2026) – The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is investing $210,000 in arts and environmental organizations – mobilizing long-term philanthropic resources to strengthen community connection, creativity, and sustainability across the region.
Seventeen regional nonprofits were selected for their work preserving natural spaces, expanding arts access, and engaging residents through creative and environmental programming. Grantees serve communities across Northern Virginia, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.
The grants totaling $210,000 are made possible through the Ross Roberts Fund for the Arts and the Environment Fund, both permanent endowments (often called ‘forever funds’) housed at the Foundation. In addition to the $745,000 the Foundation has granted last month, the Community Foundation has granted nearly $1,000,000 in discretionary support to grantees during this fiscal year to date, reflecting the Foundation’s growing discretionary grantmaking and long-term commitment to sustained community impact.
