The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia has concluded its discretionary grants cycle for the Ross-Roberts Fund for the Arts and Environment Fund, both permanent endowments (often called 'forever funds') managed by the Foundation. 
Thanks to the generous support of donors and partners, grants totaling $210,000 will be directed to seventeen regional nonprofits, selected for their work preserving natural spaces, expanding arts access, and engaging residents through creative and environmental programming. 

Fairfax, VA (April 20, 2026) – The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is investing $210,000 in arts and environmental organizations – mobilizing long-term philanthropic resources to strengthen community connection, creativity, and sustainability across the region.

Seventeen regional nonprofits were selected for their work preserving natural spaces, expanding arts access, and engaging residents through creative and environmental programming. Grantees serve communities across Northern Virginia, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $25,000.

Fairfax, VA (April 17, 2025) – The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia has awarded $855,000 in grants to 51 nonprofit organizations across the region through the region through the Community Investment Funds (CIF), Environment Fund, and Ross-Roberts Fund for the Arts distributions. Individual grants range from $5,000 to $30,000. These grants are more than just funding—they represent the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia’s commitment to building a more resilient and inclusive region.

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is awarding $805,940 in grants to 49 local organizations through its 2024 Community Investment Funds (CIF), Environment Fund, and Ross-Roberts Fund for the Arts competitive cycles. These grants, supported by charitable endowments and managed by the Community Foundation, will address current and emerging needs in the region.
