The Community Foundation’s new 5-year Strategic Plan lays out a roadmap for building a stronger, more equitable, more resilient community. Guzmán’s book is a tool that can directly promote community resilience. It offers a thoughtful process for how good citizens in tough times can help bridge what divides us. Her unique formula for civic healing will get us thinking about how deeper listening and curiosity can bridge gaps in understanding, despite our deeply-held beliefs and individual perspectives.
Thanks to the more than 400+ community members and book clubs who have registered to join us in reading this book this year. The Community Foundation will send you free copies of the book in early July, up to 8 copies per Book Circle, as well as a discussion guide. Individuals will also have the chance to join a Community Foundation sponsored Book Circle discussion if they don't have a book club of their own.
Join us for a Fireside Chat this November, where Mónica Guzmán will join President and CEO Eileen Ellsworth for a discussion of the book on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 9:00 - 11:00 am.
