“The Permanent Fund fuels most of our community leadership work. It is the primary source of funding that enables the Community Foundation to respond to the most critical needs in our region and make philanthropic investments in new and innovative ideas. Hundreds of the region’s most well managed and essential nonprofits have received support from The Permanent Fund over the years,” said Eileen Ellsworth, Community Foundation President and CEO.

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia saw incredible growth this past year – its asset base grew by $10 million from $37 to $47 million, it received $13 million in annual contributions, and with $4.7 million distributed through grants and scholarships, it continued to support critical need and seed innovation in the region at record levels.

The Annual Report highlights the impactful year of the Foundation and details the launch of funds including the Latino Engagement and Achievement Fund, the Our Children Fund, and dozens of new funds including three funds to support our region’s parks in partnership with NOVA Parks; events including the Innovation Breakfast series and the Community Wealth Building initiative; and celebrates the Million Dollar Milestone reached by the Giving Circle of HOPE, a component fund of the Community Foundation.
