Funding will provide after-school homework support and academic enrichment opportunities to kindergarten through sixth grade children from low-income and homeless families in the Reston/Herndon area.

Funding will support the Emerging Leaders Program, a leadership development program that supports at-risk immigrant youth in the pursuit of a higher education.
Greenbrier Learning Center, $10,000**

Funding will help provide high-quality academic and social-emotional support to upper-elementary students from low-income households in Arlington through an intensive, daily after-school and summer program that engages parents and schools as partners through the Learning ROCKS! Program.
Northern Virginia Community College Education Foundation, $9,720

Funding will support the participation of underserved youth in Fairfax County communities in the VEX Robotics Competition, in which they will learn critical problem solving and computer skills, gain experience with designing and building a robot in a team environment, and be inspired to explore future STEM coursework and careers.

Funding will support out-of-school programs of The House, Inc. Student Leadership Center that work to improve health, education, and employment outcomes for middle and high school students.

Funding will provide continued opportunities for at-risk teens to participate in outdoor healthy physical activities while transitioning into part-time employment to gain critical and needed work experience, training and leadership skills.

Funding will support a comprehensive program of adult literacy with ESOL instruction, civics education, GED preparation and citizenship preparation for 350 students whose first language is “other than English.”

Funding will support a high-quality early childhood education program for children from low-income and non-English speaking families and to support English as a Second Language classes for their parents.

Funding will support vital adult and computer literacy services for 475 low-income ESOL adult learners to help develop or improve English skills to help participants obtain employment, build independence, and provide a better quality of life for their families.

Funding will help provide a court appointed special advocate to every child who is abused, neglected or abandoned in Prince William County, Manassas City and Manassas Park, so the child may be protected, receive needed services to overcome the trauma and impact of abuse and have a safe and permanent home.

Funding will support the Food and Nutrition Program, which provides emergency and ongoing food assistance to individuals, families, and senior citizens who are at risk or experiencing hunger in Southeastern Fairfax County.

Funding will support the Backpack Coalition Program in the Loudoun County Public Schools’ Office of Outreach that provides food for hungry students during weekends allowing the students to focus on learning.

Funding will support the Emergency Assistance program of SERVE to provide emergency food, financial assistance, and connection to other resources to prevent individuals and families from experiencing prolonged instability arising from a financial crisis.

Funding will help offenders and their family members in Loudoun County who are struggling with poverty as a result of incarceration to address emergency needs and reach self-sufficiency through employment.

Funding will help provide transitional housing, case management, financial assistance and supportive services to homeless women and children in Prince William County and facilitate placement into permanent safe housing.
