Contrary to popular perception, only 6.5 percent of older Northern Virginians move in a given year and only 2.6 percent of them leave the state. An overwhelming majority, therefore, “age-in-place,” and they constitute an ever-growing percent of the local demographic. Who are they, what do they need, and how can we help?

Upon review of both the CDC guidance on community levels of COVID-19 and its website listings showing our own Northern Virginia counties' positive case percentages, the Community Foundation has removed its proof of COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
Additionally, the Community Foundation does not require masks be worn. You are welcomed to wear a mask if that makes you comfortable.
As always, if you are sick or feel you are getting sick, we ask that you please stay home.

The Community Foundation will continue to follow COVID-19 guidance from local health departments and the CDC for in-person events.

Currently, the COVID-19 Community Level is at LOW in our region. The CDC recommends that those who are at high risk for severe illness talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need to wear a mask and take other precautions. LEARN MORE >

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. If you have not registered and would like to join in-person, there will be walk-up registrations available at the door. Please park in Lot B, and arrive between 7:30 and 8:15. The program will begin promptly at 8:30, and food is not allowe in the auditorium.
