2019 Community Investment Grants Will Help Respond to Critical Community Needs in Northern Virginia Region

Oakton, VA – The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia announced 41 winners of its annual Community Investment Funds grant cycle for 2019. The $404,792 in grants is a record amount ever awarded by Community Foundation and will help local organizations provide critical services to residents throughout Northern Virginia, including programs that help to improve the health, education, and general wellbeing of residents, communities, and the entire region.

This fund supports porgrams that help children and youth obtain the education, support, services and opportunities they need to thrive. The grant helped Girls on the Run NOVA expand into an economically disadvantaged school. 2018 Community Investment Grant Cycle Awards $259,260 to 26 Local Organizations

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia announced the winners of its 2018 Community Investment Grants today. The largest and most competitive discretionary grant cycle managed by the Community Foundation and one of the largest pools of funds supporting broad-based giving in the Northern Virginia region, the grants fund organizations which provide support in critical areas of need throughout Northern Virginia. These grants will further the organizations’ abilities to improve the health, education, and general wellbeing of neighbors, communities, and the entire region. The total sum of grants made is $259,260.

Community Foundation for Northern Virginia pledges $100,000 over the next five years

Today, the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is proud to join over 30 philanthropic organizations and corporations to announce pledges totaling more than $170 million over the next five years to support veterans and military families. The Community Foundation’s Military Personnel and Their Families Fund has granted $270,300 since it was established in 2010, and through the Joining Forces Impact Pledge, has committed another $100,000 of support through 2019.
